Moses: God's Friendship Chatper 4

Shelter

God's friendship with his chosen ones is so intense that even if he showed them 10 plagues in Egypt, Parting of the Red Sea, and providing the Manna the bread of heaven, the Israelites would not trust God completely for their survival. What did God do more while they camped in the desert?

Shelter- It was called the pillar of fire, brought out of an eagle's wings. Out of Egypt, God brought them out to the Red Sea. God's perfect words written in Exodus 19:4 are: You yourselves have seen what I did to Egypt, and how I carried you on eagles' wings and brought you to myself.

Aside from the pillar of fire following them around, God would manifest Himself through the dense cloud located at the middle of their camp where the tabernacle of the people God's foothold lays. It was also described that their clothes and footwear did not go on wear and tear for 40 long years! Awesome God!

If I were in those days, like I said, I could just stay there forever & just be in God's presence. Marvel & wonder, worship, and obey his commands that is all He likes to experience with his chosen ones. But these hard-headed people complain a lot. Why would you complain if you are sheltered in an eagle's wings and embraced tightly in God's presence?

The pillar of smoke and fire never departed in their camp. Surrounds them day and night, the dense cloud is always at the center of their camp. A physical manifestation that God is at their site wherever they lay their heads to sleep. This is holy ground, no one can stay or touch it except His only chosen ones.

How's that feeling?

For me that is heaven on earth. God came to earth to befriend His people, to let them experience Him, and to know them by Heart. Taking God this way is too much. You can say God did overdo just to reach out to His chosen ones. It is not just enough to say God loves them.

God sheltered them Himself, embraced them Himself. Yet these people always complain and grumble. God is angered all the time and he would strike the outside of the camp where He could just identify who these evil-minded people are and kill it.

Talking about the nature of God? Yes, He can and will kill. But He will do it with haste and justly.
