Moses: God's friendship Chapter 2

Being provided by God Himself is really heaven on earth. He chose the land of nothing but scorched earth during the day leaving the night the heavens display its stars and great light of the earth's sky. There is no greater beauty than to marvel at the work of His hands. However, what did the people do? Grumble and complain to Moses until Moses abuses God's friendship. He struck and commanded a mountain rock to leak its water.

So it was done. So what? Moses was God's power and God's hand to its people. Anything you ask, Moses can do. But God considered this is a sin. It caused Moses not to enter the promised land. 

One would say, then God is a killjoy. He is not a friend at all because he punishes after all what Moses has done for Him. 

We must understand God is not a man that He should lie. God's friendship over man's friendship is never the same. God cannot tolerate sin and lies even if He is your friend. While man can tolerate and even help you sin more. God is not. 

When God becomes your friend, you have everything of what He is. You can abuse but you cannot skip God's wrath later. God finds out and will judge you about it. He will punish and deliver justice even if He is your friend. He will not allow you to disrespect Him and dishonor Him for if He reveals and carries His Name, you will have to be reverent about Him. Reverence means deep respect for the Holy One, the Lord your God of Israel YHWH. That is what Moses failed to do. Abused God's power and did not respect God's name.

Food- God knows man needs food. He created man to eat and to taste heaven food called "Manna." When God provided Manna, these people were given instructions on when to gather it and how much anyone could have. These would show that when God is your friend, you will never be hungry for He will fill your stomach with heaven's food. He will provide you with what you need so that needing anyone is no longer a need.

Define total satisfaction? It's God who is a friend in a desolate land. I don't know about you but this is God feeding you in the desert who has nothing but God himself.
