Joshua: God who stood still Chapter 5

Faith. Can it really please God? How?

With the spying activity, Joshua came out number 1 and Caleb would be number 2 for me. Joshua the youngest of all of his brothers who came from the smallest tribe of Benjamin was brave and bold enough to stand out from his older brothers and declare the Lord thy God, the Holy One of Israel who can take over the promised land.

I think God was impressed with the young Joshua in the manner in which Joshua reported never said it was "them" but "it is God" who will take over and therefore they can and they will. That's my own opinion. Again it was seen "in faith" Joshua knows that only faith can please God. So be it, it shall be done.

We must never forget that God is a Father figure and we are His children. Whatever a child asks from a father, the father will not fail the child. What a father promises to his child, will be fulfilled by the Lord God, the Father of all.

Joshua understood this heart of God to him. Joshua considered God as his Father and He is a child of God. So how impossible it was for others to become "possible" with him. Joshua saw a difference and even imagined what his Father would do to these giants occupying the land. Because even if he is like an ant biting giant feet, his Father is greater and bigger than them. Joshua's boldness did not come from his human nature. It came from his heart of faith to his Father who is the God of heavens and God on earth.

I believe he understood who God is rather than who his enemies are. This is how we please God.
