Gideon: God who obeys Chapter 5

Victory belongs to the Lord.

From a weak leader to a fewer army can victory happen?

Gossiping about Sparta and Leonidas in history it did not go well. They were the best men in Greece, well trained and brutal army but the end did not spell victory. All died and their defeat is recorded in history.

Here comes Gideon and the 300 army facing the vast battlefronts of the Midianites. Surely, the larger in size army laughs out loud as Gideon and his 300 so-called mighty men of God approach. This is an overkill. Too easy, not even worthy to scratch our shiny swords, Midianites said.

Staring from a far Gideon didn't even have any swords but brought in trumpets and oh what's with the other left hand? A pitcher pot with a torch inside? This is not a drill and here you are to play a music to entertain your enemies before you die?

Then it all happened, no one was spared. All have died.

The battle result is clear. There is no question to ask and not too complicated to understand as well. The noise, light, and shouting "The sword of God and Gideon" movements of the 300 armies bombarded a thousand soldiers causing them to turn to each other to fight and kill their own uniform. In this state, confusion sets in paralyzing the thousand troops, the impossible truly happened.

The Midianites do not know God but know Gideon. They probably fear Gideon more than God. So as they fled from their battlefronts no one was spared because the armies from Israel tribes cavalries pursued them to the end. Yet, even before that happened, the Midianites were already wiped out. It is hard to understand and too complicated to comprehend.

We could then conclude that the battle and victory belongs to the Lord.
