Samson: God who fights Chapter 5

A nazarite? What is it all about?

A Nazarite is a deep word. It means exclusivity. A solid loyalty and pure devotion to the Holy One. It purges its diet of unclean food, will not be drinking any fruit of the vines, no razor will touch the scalp of its head, & must not come near to any tombs, graves or cenotaphs.

For me, being a nazarite is also walking a high standard path of life. Out of nothingness, God will be your help. You cannot desire anything except to uphold your position in reverence to God. There is only black or white. It is not the habit of God to lie so I believe when Samson told Delilah the 3rd time about the truth, Samson cannot hide the truth anymore. Because Samson knows that God is with him, he cannot endure to tell a lie even to God's enemies. I believe this is pure love coming out of him, whom he innocently presumed Delilah is a good woman that would keep his secrets. Out of good heart, pure intentions, pure love poured out his secrets where Delilah traded it with shekels of silver & may it be that she became the most famous richest woman in the world at that time.

Samson is a prominent power house figure of Israel. He is not just stand alone, cheap guy we see in the streets. He is God's muscle and physical power. Truth is, it is hard to comprehend and believe too that God can put all of his strength to one man. So his enemies loves to challenge him.

When Samson was in love, we can sense here that God was not even controlling his emotions so long as Samson does not physically violates the Nazarties vow before God. It was Delilah who ordered to cut his hair & not Samson. It was an act of another person violating Samson's code of strength which he allowed it.

I wish it could have end well for both of them. But Samson fell for the wrong woman. How many good guys does the same? They love a woman they think its best for them but then forsake God at the end. The lesson is learned & I cannot simply dictate when not to fall to inlove when a woman as beautiful as Delilah comes to your life. But I can say, do not trust the heart. Trust God and His ways. His ways are not your ways. So when someone is good let God reveal it first. Be patient.
